Colorado Governor Polis tours OroraTech facilities

The Munich staff of OroraTech was proud to host Governor Polis, along with Executive Director for the Colorado Department of Natural Resources Dan Gibbs and Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade Eve Lieberman.

After years of US involvement, OroraTech opened its Denver headquarters in 2025, quickly growing its staff with members from Denver, Golden, and Fort Collins. Setting up base camp in the state's capital has been rewarding. Denver's central location allows better engagement and support for firefighters across the country, especially the West.

The partnership is a natural one, thanks to years of German-American collaboration. Colorado and Bavaria are sister states, with Munich and Denver as sister cities. The German-American Chamber of Commerce – Colorado (GACC-CO) played a critical role in supporting OroraTech's investment in the Mile High City.

This enmeshed community stretches into low earth orbit (LEO) now, with OroraTech's proprietary wildland fire satellites.

The company's commitment to Colorado makes sense on another, practical level. Colorado's leadership in wildland fire management provides decades of experience led by forward-looking command structures embracing new, tested, technology.

Large fires like the Cameron Peak and Marshall blazes are part of a growing pattern of worsening incidents and more dangerous fire conditions.

Technology like OroraTech's wildland-fire-focused FOREST constellation and unified public/private data platform are part of Colorado's attack against these larger fires.

We were glad to show Governor Polis firsthand what will soon be in orbit above his state, helping the Governor's mission to safeguard communities and public lands. The whole team looks forward to deepening our investment in Colorado in the years to come.
